An Ancient Beauty Tip

This Weeks Blog

The lymphatic system is a crucial part of the immune system. This is the power house to your skins health and appearance.

As explained in previous blogs (see blog: The Lymphatic System and Your Skin) when you have unhealthy eruptions appearing on the skin it’s a large telling sign that you are having filtering issues, so you must focus on your body's natural cleaning system (your lymphatic system) to start filtering properly.

This system helps filter the metabolic waste your body does not need, it also acts as a defence to rid the body of foreign substances the body foes not recognise or want (such as toxins).

When this system is not functioning as it should fluid can build up and cause serious health issues and your skin condition is one of them.

It's hard to feel this way, but you should thank your skin for showing you early signs of a health issue before it has escalated into something more serious, as built up lymph will cause all sorts of dis-eases and alignments in the body over time if nothing is done to improve the blocked drain.

There are many powerful tools you can do yourself at home with very little cost and huge benefits. These are non-invasive to the body and suitable for any skin types to use.

And one of those delicious tools that your skin will love you for is ….. massage!!!.

Who doesn’t like a massage?

It’s called lymphatic drainage. It’s a specialised type of massage therapy that is used to treat many inflammatory conditions to bring in healthy circulation to promote health and faster healing especially with skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, cysts & rosacea. It’s an ancient Chinese practice that has won the respect of many therapists while treating their clients with skin conditions.

Because of the astonishing results people are having from all walks of life it is now incorporated into many peoples beauty regimens. It has been shown to improve firmness, puffiness, redness, dull complexion, inflammation of the skin. It has also been called ‘nonsurgical facelift’ ... how cool is that!

We have lymph nodes throughout our whole body including the face and neck. The lymph nodes of the head and neck receive, filter and transport lymphatic fluid from the surrounding tissues and vise versa back into the bloodstream keeping the body in strong health by cleaning the lymphatic fluid..

The facial nodes comprises the maxillary / infraorbital, buccinator and the mandibular lymph nodes. The neck also includes cervical and clavicle nodes.

There is no loss in trying it, only so much to gain.

This is great to add to your: detox plan, your natural skin care routine and your gratitude journal to heal your skin.
No matter where you are up to in your journey this is effective. If you are struggling with a stubborn skin condition I suggest you couple lymphatic massage with regular detoxing, exercise and journaling. This is a great place to start.

Yes, the lymphatic massage is effective but no just on its own. As a skin expert in healing my own adult cystic acne and many others skin conditions, I do believe a holistic approach to health and healing is the answer especially when nothing else has worked.

If you want more information on how to do this and how to get the results you want book in a chat with myself (Pixie Dee) today and i'm happy to discuss where you are at and find a holistic map that will work for your body.mind.soul to finally achieve your desired goals and stop feeling stuck and move into inspired and excited.

Let’s start on how to do this yourself.

It’s cheap, it's simple, it's super relaxing, it's self-nourishing and it's effective.

1). First, you want to ensure you have a clean face and clean hands (removing all makeup properly). It's ideal to do this just before bed and is suggested to do it 3-4 nights a week adding it your night time skin routine.

You can do this exercise on bare skin or you can use your favourite natural oils (you only need a tiny drop).

Some good natural oils you can use are (Coconut oil, Rose hip, Jojoba, Shea butter and Caster oil)

2). To enhance your results in assisting the drainage, couple this massage with slow conscious deep breathing. Using your breath will help circulation it also puts the body into a relaxed state stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system which is ideal for any type of healing/ benefit of health to occur.

Get comfortable you can sit or lie down to do this exercise and if you really want to treat yourself put on some nice calming music to help you unwind from your day.

3). Apply light pressure and gently move your index finger and middle finger in stroking motions flowing with the direction of your lymphatic stream to encourage drainage. You can change your techniques around to rubbing, brushing, tapping or pushing (just remember to be gentle you don’t need much pressure to move the lymph).

4). When you start on your neck you need to roll down towards the nodes near your clavicle. Then start on your lips and work towards the sides of your ears as you have nodes near your ears. Then start from your nose towards the ears again, then a little higher on your nose to under your eyes and working towards your ears. Then go over your eyebrows and again down to your ears. Finishing on your forehead as you making lines down towards your ears.

If you are using a tool like a roller you can use the small area around your eyes and the bigger part on the larger parts of your face.

Do each side of your face 5x in each area.

5). When you have done both sides of your face (5x in each area) you can do a final rinse off and apply a natural moisturiser or oil to your face and neck (if you didn't use anything prior to your massage as you want to avoid over moisturising the skin).

Note: Be extra gentle when focusing on the sensitive areas like around the eyes. Use one finger here and switch to a slight rolling movement.

Here is a picture of face mapping to help guide you. Do the same routine on both sides of your face following this map.

Remember when you're doing your face always end at your ears.

GLOW AS RADIANT
AS THE SUN because
YOU DESERVE TO
